S & C Family: Baby Shower

My friend Paula has a new baby. It's really an exciting thing! They've wanted a baby for a long time. The last 3 or so years they've been going through the adoption process. In a whirlwind fashion, they got Eva Marie. They met her the day after she was born and finalized the adoption shortly thereafter. Wow!

Paula and I met when we both worked at church camp in the summer of 1997. We remained good friends after our 2 summers together. And when Steve and I were looking for a church home, she gave us her recommendations. One of which was the church we ended up at.....Second Presbyterian Church. Within that same year, Paula became the Director of Children and Youth Ministries at Second as well. Bonus!

We've stayed at the same church, even after finding our home that's pretty far away. Paula has stayed there too. So after I found out about the baby, I knew I had to help with whatever the church did for her.

Yesterday was the reception/baby shower. It was held after church. It was a drop by, meet the baby, enjoy some cake and punch kind of thing. Here is the room decorated for the occasion. I think it looked really pretty. The clothes line was one of my contributions. Isn't it cute!?!

Cupcakes, cake, cake pops and punch...yummy. I made the slushy punch and it was a hit! :) We have some amazingly talented ladies at our church. Everything was made by members.

Here's Tony, Eva and Paula. (Some of you might remember Paula. She sang beautifully at our wedding.)

Mallory enjoyed a cake pop.

Everything turned out beautifully. And it was fun too.
