Ever since Publika opened, we noticed a number of interesting restaurants opening in the mall and have frequented the mall a lot since then.
This time around, we discovered a Korean dessert caf? serving genuine modern Korean food in bistro style.
Namoo means tree in Korean. The caf? was founded on the belief that good food should be served fresh and natural. Namoo aims to serve Korean food in a modern and classic ambiance. We personally thought their logo is very cute!
The interior of the restaurant was amazing, dimly lit and spacious, we found it comfortable to dine in the restaurant on both of our visits.
On our first visit, we tried two of their hot drinks. On the left, we had a Sweet Potato Latte and on the right we had a Yuza Tea (Korean traditional citrus tea), priced at RM9.90 and RM7.90 respectively. The Sweet Potato Latte was sweet and thick, it was a rather filling drink, my better half enjoyed the drink a lot! I personally liked the Yuza Tea more, which I find rather sour and appetising. Both drinks are highly recommended!
On our subsequent visit, we had their Green Tea Latte which was priced at RM9.90. The Green Tea Latte was very good, it was not sweet at all but had a strong green tea fragrance which we both enjoyed a lot.
The best drink, however, that we tried in Namoo, in our opinion, would be the Snow Flower Rice Punch Granita. Priced at RM8.90, this drink is more commonly known as Sikhye, a Korean rice drink which is commonly served in Korean restaurants after meals. Namoo?s version was probably the best and resembles the Sikhye in Korea most. Although slightly pricey, we highly recommend our readers to try it out!
On our first visit, we ordered a Kimchi Soup with Rice which was priced at RM16.90. The Kimchi soup with chicken sausage was served with rice and white Kimchi. We thought the soup was very good, slightly spicy and sour with strong Kimchi taste, it was excellent when eaten with rice. Definitely one of the food items which we will recommend to order!
We decided to be adventurous on that day and ordered a Bibi Rice Burger which was priced at RM19.90.? The rice burger was unique and definitely one of its kind. Grilled chicken breast and mixed vegetables were prepared with Bibi sauce and sandwiched between a handmade grilled rice bun. We found the burger delicious in its own way and I personally liked the rice bun. It was firm and sticky, and slightly salted with seaweed taste. We will definitely return for more!
On our second visit we had their Kimchi Fried Rice which was served in wrapped egg.
Priced at RM13.90, I found the Kimchi Fried Rice quite delicious while my better half found it slightly bland to his liking. Nevertheless, the rice was nice and fragrant and the egg was perfectly cooked, suitable for those who preferred their Kimchi Fried Rice to be less spicy and sour.
One of our favourite orders was the White Kimchi Cold Noodles. Priced at RM15.90, traditional Korean noodles were served with Namoo?s chef special white Kimchi soup. The cold noodles were simple but yet so delicious and refreshing, coupled with white Kimchi, every bite was amazing! We will definitely return for this dish!
The mains that we had in Namoo were definitely delicious, however, we found their serving slightly small. On both visits, we decided to satisfy our tummies by ordering desserts. Recommended by Namoo, we had a Sweet Potato Cake for RM9.90. The sweet potato and nut cake was served with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. The cake was sweet and creamy, very nice and delectable when eaten with the vanilla ice-cream. Surprisingly the cake was very filling, a good option for people who are constantly hungry like us.
On our second visit, we wanted to try The King?s Bing Soo (Korean shaved ice), however, we were told that the item was not available on our visit. So we had the Mat Tang instead. For RM14.90, we had a plate of honey glazed sweet potato and pumpkin with yuza nuts. We enjoyed the dessert a lot. The sweet potatoes and pumpkin were sweet and nicely coated with honey, the Korean rice cake which was served along with it was sweet and chewy as well. Again, a rather filling dessert to fill our tummies up.
We enjoyed the food in Namoo a lot and it was definitely quality and authentic Korean food. Do check this place out if you happen to visit Publika! We will definitely return for more as we wanted to try The King?s Bing Soo out next time! Please visit their Facebook page for more information!
