Family Crafts: Valentine's Day ? NameMaker Blog

valentines craft ribbon bracelets

Valentine?s Day will be here soon, so it?s a great time to make some crafts with the whole family.? We spied a few fun ideas at Spoonful.com.

For girls: Friendship bracelets are always?in style, and are super simple to make together for her BFFs.

Supplies needed:

Ribbon

Scissors

Self-adhesive Velcro (strips or circles)

Tacky glue (optional)

White office label

Pen or permanent marker

Directions:

1.? For each bracelet, measure and cut a piece of ribbon long enough to go around child?s wrist, plus a little extra for folding ends under.

2.? Fold down one end of the ribbon and?stick on?one half of a velcro piece as shown, then turn the ribbon over, fold down the end, and attach the other half of the velcro. Add a drop of glue under each piece of velcro if needed (depends on the type of?ribbon and velcro you use).

3.? Cut the label to fit (if necessary), write a message on it, then stick it to the inside of the bracelet.

That?s it! Make a few with different ribbons for the stacked bracelet look.

In our decorative ribbons section, we offer these ribbons and other colors and styles too. Other supplies can be found at most craft stores.

There?s a fine line between cute and embarassing, but this little valentine is cool enough to win the girls over. (or more likely, just fly around their classroom).
